I know you will like to root your exceptional Infinix Zero 4 X574, probably because you want to explore more, but the latest OS, Android M is very stubborn when it comes to rooting, because the popular and easiest apps such as Kingroot, Vroot, Framaroot, Tecnoroot, Rootgenius etc., seems not working for it. The below tutorial will guide the Infinix X574 (Zero 4) users to install TWRP Recovery and Root their Smartphone.

Important Notice
After rooting your phone, it’s advisable to unroot before performing an OTA update or restoring factoring settings. We have a comprehensive guide on that here.

Materials Needed For The Rooting

» SP Flash Tool - Download it Here
» VCOM Drivers - Downloading link and installation instruction, check here
» TWRP Recovery Image for Infinix Zero 4 -Download it Here
» SuperSU-v2.76.zip - Download it Here

How to Flash Custom ROM to Android Smartphone

Posted: 14 Dec 2016 02:45 PM PST

This is a guest post compiled by Chukwudi Jason Uzoukwu for Shelaf.com

Flashing your ROM means in loose terms installing upgraded/modded versions of Android operating systems to your device. The open-source nature of Android makes this very possible and is also one of the reasons that Android, without a doubt, hands down, with all it quirks, is the best OS running on mobile devices today.

There are different versions of stock ROMs from different manufacturers, either running pure stock android, or a modded version of Samsung's TouchWiz.

It happens a lot; phone manufacturers stop releasing updates for devices, and we, the people, are left wanting, well, at least until this guide showed up 👌.

Why Flash Your Phone?

Flashing your phone's ROM can help with the following:
No New Updates From Manufacturers:New phones come out anyhow all over the place, so the newer models of a series of phones are favored to get new Android version updates, and the older models areleft in the dark, usually because of outdated hardware. A lot of phones older phones are capable of running newer versions ofAndroid, and flashing your ROM can help you get all those sweet new features. A very good example of these phones is the Samsung Galaxy S3.Bloatware: You can easily delete or get rid of bloatware (useless apps that come pre-installed on your phone).Extra Customization: I mentioned android being open source, add a very before that, you get a very open source. I mean withcustom ROMs you can change andcustomize the UI and how your phoneoperates. You get more frequent OTA (Over The Air) updates to fix bugs and issues.Better Performance and Efficiency:Custom ROMs are often faster, more efficient, and use less memory because the developer might have already ripped out the useless garbage, such as carrier installed apps or optimized the kernel. For example, an undervolted kernel can provide a much better battery life than the stock one. (Undervolting is a trick used to reduce heat evolved and increase the efficiency of electronic devices, especially PCs.).

Important Notice

Flashing your ROM is cool and all, with all the extra perks it seems to good to be true, but of course there are potential drawbacks.
First of all, something may go wrong with the flashing process and leave your phonebricked. The chances of this are pretty low nowadays, and most of the time you can restore it back to normal. Try to pick a ROM that has a lot of positive feedback. In order to install a custom ROM, you need to perform a clean wipe. This means you will lose all existing data, so you have toback up everything first. You may void your phone's warranty, and rendering it useless when you might want to invoke it with your manufacturer. The benefits of flashing outweigh the warranty so, just be careful. Finally installing a ROM not compatible with your device may result in your phone bricking during the flashing process, or it m ay install and run horribly or not run at all. Always make sure you get the right ROM for your phone model. We want to mention before we get into it that if anything goes wrong during or after the flashing process, we are not liable. Of course, we know there are always risks and we're willing to help, as long as you don't do anything crazy, you're good. Nevertheless, flash at your own risk.

What You'll Need.

Root: This guide teaches how to flash with TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) Recovery Mode, and TWRP requires root access to flash. While stock bootloader doesn't, we advise you root your phone anyway. I recommend KingRoot App, it is easy, quick and efficient. Rooting comes with its own risks, so do so responsibly. An Unlocked Bootloader with Custom Recovery Installed: Unlocking your bootloader varies across devices, so this guide for installing TWRP should help a lot. The Actual ROM: I mentioned that there are a lot of custom ROMs out there, so finding the right one for your device might take a while, but you can do that by googling " 'YourPhoneModel' custom ROM". The most trusted ROMs are fromCyanogenMod, so go through there or you could snoop around XDA-Developers.A microSD Card to hold the ROM file temporarily. Preferably empty and 8GB or more for backups. Do not proceed unless you have the above.

Actual Flashing Process

Here we go! I am going to do a somewhat stripped down version of the process for the people who want this done quick.

1. Power on your phone and plug it into your PC to access the SD card. Locate where you downloaded your ROM to and paste it to the rootof your SD card. include any other .zip app packages you want to install like GAPPS (Google App Packages) if your ROM doesn't come with it.
2. Power off the device and then boot up to recovery.
3. In your phone's custom recovery bootloader, locate the menu options which allow you to wipe the phone.

Whenever changing ROMs, it is a good idea to make a backup first, then Factory Reset, before flashing the new ROM, or if the ROM you want to flash comes with an Aroma Installer, you can do the standard full wipe in Aroma as it usually comes with that option before proceeding with the installation.

4. Select "Backup" and choose what you would like to backup, the files are usually large so if you encounter any errors with space you might want to delete some things off your SD card.

5. Go back home and select wipe, then factory reset.

6. Once your phone has been wiped, go back to the root of the menu and select "Install".
7. Locate the ROM .Zip file you wish to flash.
8. Confirm the flash by swiping the screen.
9. After the ROM successfully flashes, you can go back and flash GAPPS or any other .zip app package from Step 4.
10. When it’s done, tap the “Wipe cache/Dalvik” button that appears and swipe to confirm.

Once the cache has been wiped, tap the “Reboot System” button to boot back into Android.

If TWRP asks if you want to install SuperSU now, choose “Do Not Install”. Some ROMs, like CyanogenMod, will already have root access available in the settings, and for any that don’t come rooted, it’s probably best to flash SuperSU yourself. (Or use KingRoot again.)

It may take a while to reboot your phone the first time remember, this is your first time booting a new operating system, so it has to get everything ready for you. Give it time.

If anything goes wrong or the phone won’t boot after a significant amount of time, reboot back into TWRP and restore from your backup, or try flashing again. Make sure you downloaded the correct ROM files, as well.

Well, that was it. I had a good time writing this because I too had days of struggling and failing with flashing. If this guide helped you, leave a comment and share it with your friends.

Tutorial: How can I share apps in Google Play

Tutorial: How can I share apps in Google Play

 By: Francis Iyamba  Tutorials

It is an undoubted truth that Google Play has an exhausting number of apps in the store, so finding the right ones become problematic. But now, how are you going to see the right one; how do you find the right ones?

Not all the apps we get from the shore come from Search. For me, most of the apps I have gotten come from my friends or even from strangers, most particularly I get apps from the store on the recommendation of people’s opinions. This is almost the general case, many people get apps from the feedback they have gotten from others. For this reason, you are always seeing those little pop-ups when using some apps (annoying to me) requesting you to rate it. But then it is only nice sharing nice apps, and not too undeserved rating bad apps harshly too.

So in this guide we will present you the procedures of sharing apps from Google Play

Okay, let us take it that you have come across one lovely app you intend recommending for a friend. It could be you desire to have a video chat with your sister but unfortunately she hasn’t installed Skype or Duo in their device. But then, you must not necessarily tell them to go look for it themselves, you could simply share a link to the app straight in Google Play.

How can you do this?

To begin with you will have to tap on the Google Play icon appearing on your home screen.
From there you will now swipe in from the left edge of the screen. Another way round this is tapping the three-line menu icon appearing in the top white bar so as to open the menu.

From there, you can tap My apps & games.

After that, you can swipe up so as to scroll down the list of Installed apps.
If you wish to share the app, just tap on it.

Swipe up if you want to scroll down past the app listing, past the reviews and rating.

Okay, you can then tap the Share button.
Click so as to choose the particular service via which you desire to share your app’s link.

Most times, I use Twitter. So you can now share the link.

Enjoy!!

: More Than 2 Million Naira Made in 3 Weeks on Zarfund!

Posted: 09 Dec 2016 10:44 AM PST

For the past 3 weeks now, we have been talking more about bitcoin and dollars. Yes! This is the way forward. Digital currency is taking over and it is creating more business opportunities.

Zarfund global investment is one of the best ways to transact on bitcoin to attend financial freedom.

We introduced Zarfund to our readers last 3 weeks and many who have been waiting for an opportunity grabbed it immediately.

Over 200 new investors joined to make our team great.

The first batch of 100 investors has gotten complete two referrals without stress. Yes! The team placed two people under each of them.

The first 3 investors have completed level 3, now in level 4. They made a profit of 0.6BTC $450 (N240,000). The next 30 investors have completed level 2, now in level 3. They made a profit of 0.1BTC $75 (N40,000). The rest 67 investors have completed level 1, now in level 2. They made a profit of 0.01BTC $7 (N4,000)

Now let’s find the aggregate;
N240,000 x 3 = 720000
N40,000 x 30 = 1200000
N4,000 x 67 = 268000
Total = N2,188,000

This is what we have made so far as a team.

If we can achieve this on our gestation stage, then it’s possible to predict what will happen in the next 6months.

However, we can’t claim that all things happened smoothly without any difficulty or challenges. Nothing good comes easily, but your ability to overcome challenges and move on is what grants real success. During the past 3 weeks in Zarfund, encountered serious challenges, some even posed a threat to the entire team. But we were able to overcome them. Below are the measures we took to improve our team.

More Team Assistants
Some who contacted us during the first week on reception were not attended to immediately because we had only two team assistants by that time and the workload was much. They found it had to offer the prompt response to prospective investors.

This problem has been fixed by introducing more team assistants to handle the job. We can now assure you that you’ll get needed assistance on time. They will help you purchase bitcoin and give you our team unique link for registration.

Transparency
Our team administrative activities are very clear and transparent to every member. No underground works and favoritism. E.g On the issue of giving referrals, we have a list of all registered members, their levels, the number of referrals and serial numbers. Referrals are given based on your serial number on the list. With this method, each member can predict when he or she will get referrals.

Zarfund is a Lifetime Investiment

The benefits of Zarfund are not for a short while, Investors keep earning for life. Apart from the profits you earn when your downlines are upgrading to upper levels, you will also earn the same amount of profits on the monthly basis.

This is the real financial freedom!

Best Universities In The World : UK Tops League Table.

Best universities in the world: UK tops league table

Oxford snatches top spot in the global rankings – a first for a UK university – but Asia is on the rise

Best universities in the world: UK tops league table

The University of Oxford has become the first UK institution to lead the annual Times Higher Educationrankings, knocking the five-times champion, the California Institute of Technology, into second place.

Oxford topped the list because it has improved across the four main indicators that influence the rankings – teaching, research, citations and international outlook, Times Higher Education said.

Rankings editor Phil Baty welcomed the news but voiced his concern at the consequences of the UK's vote to leave the EU.

"As well as some top academics reporting they have been frozen out of collaborative research projects with EU colleagues, many are admitting that they might look to relocate to a university outside the country," Baty told the BBC.

"The UK must ensure that it limits the damage to academics, students, universities and science during its Brexit negotiations, to ensure that the UK remains one of the world leaders in higher education."

The University of Cambridge and Imperial College London, also feature in the top ten, while University College London (UCL) slipped from 14th place last year to 15th.

Overall, the UK takes 91 of the top 980 places in the 13th annual Times HigherEducation rankings; 88 of these make the top 800 compared with 78 last year.

The list is dominated by US universities. Stanford University is ranked third, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology fifth, Harvard sixth and Princeton seventh. The University of California, Berkeley and the University of Chicago are joint tenth.

More broadly, the rankings show that institutions in Asia have made progress - two new names are now in the top 100 and another four join the top 200.

"The UK will have to watch out for Asia's continuing ascent. Although the notion of Asia as the 'next higher education superpower' has become something of a cliche in recent years, the continent's rise in the rankings is real and growing," says Baty.

How to Block Your Cell Phone Number From Caller ID

How to Block Your Cell Phone Number From Caller ID

It's free and easy; just choose a temporary or permanent block

Email: francisiyamba@gmail.com

By Adam Fendelman, Smartphones Expert

While caller ID is a standard way to display incoming phone numbers, you don’t have to let it identify you. Making your mobile number invisible from caller ID is free and easy.

You have two choices with cell phone blocking: you can do a permanent block or a temporary block on a call-by-call basis.

Temporary blocking only works when you call individuals and businesses. Your phone number can’t be blocked when calling toll-free (i.e. 1-800) and emergency services (i.e. 911), due to obvious security reasons.

Moreover, if you own an Android smartphone or an iPhone, you can hide your caller ID from within the software of your device.

Here are the simple and free steps for all four choices.

Call-by-Call Block From Caller ID

Just dial *67 before the phone number on your cell phone. This code is the universal command to deactivate caller ID.

For example, placing a blocked call would look like *67 555 555 5555 (without the spaces). On the receiving end, caller ID will usually display “private number” because it has been blocked.

Though you won’t hear or see a confirmation of a successful caller ID block, it will work.

Permanent Block From Caller ID

Just call your cell phone carrier and ask for a line block. This means your phone number won’t appear when you call any number. This is permanent and irreversible. While customer service may attempt to convince you to reconsider, the choice is yours.

Though the code to call your mobile carrier can vary, 611 typically works for cell phone customer service in the United States and Canada. If you temporarily want your number to appear when you have a permanent line block in place, you can dial *82 before the number. For example, allowing your number to appear in this case would look like *82 555 555 5555 (without the spaces).

Do be aware, though, that a minority of people automatically decline calls from phones that block caller ID. In that case, you’d have to allow caller ID in order to make the call.

Hide Your Number On An Android Device

Open Dialer.Press the menu button.Press Additional settings.Enter Caller ID setting.Choose "Hide number" and your number will be hidden.Choose "Show number" or  "Network default" setting to show it back.

Hide Your Number On An iPhone

Go to Settings.Enter 'Phone' setting.Press Show My Caller ID.Use the toggle switch to show or hide your number.

So, there you have it; now you know how to block your caller ID from your recipients.
